Crackbridging Decorative and Protective Coating
Sealcoat Elastic™ is a tough, highly flexible coating based on a mixture of emulsion polymers specially formulated to provide crackbridging of the substrate with excellent resistance to mildew and dirt pick up.
Uses
- Sealocoat Elastic ™ is a protective and decorative coating for cracked or crack-prone substrates such as stucco, concrete, brickwork, concrete block, cinder block and wood
- To prevent the deterioration of concrete structures through carbonization, chloride attack and water ingress
- To provide decorative waterproof crackbridging coatings on residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Advantages
- Safe and easy to use
- Forms a flexible waterproof membrane over the substrate
- Good crackbridging capability on active cracks
- Good resistance to chloride attack and carbonization in concrete
- Excellent cold weather performance
- No embrittlement through UV attack
- Good vapor permeability
- Non-flammable
- High quality color fast pigments
- Excellent mildew resistance
- Very low dirt retention
- Superior elastic memory
- Salt spray resistant.
Surface Preparation
Specification
Apply Sealobond Primer WB™ where the substrate is chalky or powdery. e.g. concrete, stucco, older painted surfaces. Apply Sealcoat Elastic™ at 10 mils dft as a decorative application or at 15 mils dft as a crackbridging application.
Priming
The substrate must be sound, dry and free of oil, dirt, grease, fats or chemicals. Where active cracks occur that exceed 15 mils in movement, it is necessary to first repair the crack as follows:
Apply a heavy coat of Sealoflex Pink®, through Sealoflex Jointing Fabric™. Allow to dry. Feather the edges of the fabric with Buttergrade™, using a trowel or sheetrock knife and allow to dry. These areas may be sanded when dry to achieve an invisible patch. Do not fill the crack with any form of caulk or grout before commencing with the above treatment thereby allowing free movement of the substrate under the repair.
Application
Application may be done with a brush, roller or airless spray. When using primer, allow to dry before overcoating with Sealcoat Elastic™.
Allow to dry between coats.
Cleaning
For Sealobond Primer WB™, use Quickclean™ water soluble solvent. For Sealcoat Elastic™, tools and brushes may be cleaned with water.

Coverage
Sealobond Primer WB™
250 sq.ft./gal.
Sealcoat Elastic™
90 sq.ft./gal. for 10 mils dft*
60 sq.ft./gal. for 15 mils dft*
(* dry film thickness)
Coverage rate will vary depending upon roughness and porosity of surface. e.g.
Split Face Block.
A minimum of 2 coats of Sealcoat Elastic ™ must be applied. To achieve optimal crackbridging ability a final dry film thickness of 15 mils must be achieved
(3 coats). This will allow cracks in the substrate up to 15 mils wide without perforating the coating.
Packaging
1 gallon, 5 gallon and 55 gallon containers.
